Our Father is a contemporary dance performance creation that arises from an interdisciplinary research process around historical memory., sexual dissidence and body poetry. The project takes as its starting point the figure of Federico García Lorca and his last letter addressed to Juan Ramírez de Lucas, his last romantic partner, whose content remained hidden until the death of Ramírez de Lucas. Lorca was murdered in 1936 because of their ideology and their sexual identity, leaving unfinished an intimate dialogue that becomes here a creative impulse.
The proposal explores the symbolic universe of Lorca and the cultural imaginaries that have shaped the Spanish identity., using the body as a narrative axis and tool of resistance. Through a physical language that combines contemporary dance, theatricality and ritual elements, Our Father constructs a visual and sensory dramaturgy that challenges the viewer from the sensitive, the political and the symbolic, vindicating the right to dissent and emotional freedom.
