One of the most anticipated days of autumn is back, the meeting of orchids of the Association of Valencian Orchidophiles (OVAL). A weekend around this great plant family that will fill our Garden with color and exuberance. One will be held both on Saturday and Sunday new edition of the orchid exhibition, an event that will bring together fans, experts and curious about these plants so admired for their beauty and diversity.
The activity will start with inauguration and opening of the exhibition, which will give way to a transplant workshop by Javier Solanas, where participants can learn practical techniques for orchid maintenance. Saturday's day will also include one talk by Rubén Velázquez about the pyrophilia and the resistance of orchids to forest fires, providing a scientific and current look at the relationship of these plants with fire.
On Sunday, the program will continue with one talk by John De Schaever dedicated to Cymbidiums, in which aspects of the cultivation and care of this species will be discussed. Besides, visitors can enjoy one guided visit to the orchid greenhouse from the hand of Rufo Yuste, an opportunity to get to know the variety and the secrets of cultivation up close. The day will be completed with the xarrada by Ramón Eduardo López Gutiérrez about the Catasetinaes, focused on the cultivation and research of this fascinating group of orchids.
