The new project of the National Dance Company, Numbers, is a choreographic triptych that pays tribute to the talent of three dance geniuses. Opens the show Serenade, first piece that the historic George Balanchine conceived for the American Ballet - founded by himself in 1935 In New York- and inspired by Tchaikovsky's famous String Serenade. It is followed by the absolute premiere of Echoes from a Restless Soul, set to Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit, created by the Italian dancer and choreographer Jacopo Godani as a succession of pas de deux and quartets in tune with the piano virtuosity of Ravel. The triptych concludes with New Yorker William Forsythe and his Playlist (Track 1, 2), where the movements combine classical and contemporary dance recreating a playlist of neo-soul and house music.
