Miguel Angel Campano

The Chirivella Soriano Foundation and the Valencia City Council presented this afternoon, in the Grao Shipyards, the exhibition dedicated to Miguel Ángel Campano, one of the essential names of contemporary Spanish painting. The sample, which can be visited from 26 from September to 10 January, brings together paintings, sketches, texts and notebooks of the artist, offering a tour of his entire creative career and bringing the public an unprecedented vision of his artistic process.

The exhibition proposes a journey in which the artist's different creative stages dialogue with each other., from figuration to abstraction, showing the constant restlessness of an itinerant creator who made experimentation one of the hallmarks of his work. Next to the paintings, the exhibition incorporates texts, sketches and notebooks that allow us to better understand his creative process and his permanent artistic search.

Miguel Ángel Campano was a key figure in the renewal of contemporary Spanish painting and received the National Prize for Plastic Arts in 1996. His work is characterized by a deeply personal language in which abstraction and figuration coexist., geometry and gesture, as well as a constant process of transformation, repetition and variation of images.

The exhibition can be visited from 26 from September to 10 January at the Grao Shipyards, reaffirming the commitment of the Chirivella Soriano Foundation and the Valencia City Council to the dissemination of contemporary artistic heritage and to the recovery of essential figures in the history of Spanish art.
