Quart de Poblet will host the Horta Markets for the first time, an appointment with ecological and local agriculture that will be held on Sundays 19 of October, 16 of November i 20 of December, of 10 a 14 hours, on Carrer Azorín, next to the Water roundabout. This proposal comes from the City Council's Markets Department and the Per l'Horta association, in collaboration with the local entities L’Animeta and Equirtlogistes, with the aim of generating a meeting space between producers and consumers based on proximity, respect for the environment and support for small producers in the region.
The Horta markets they offer organic seasonal fruit and vegetables or produced under sustainable criteria, as well as locally made products (jams, conserves, mel, pa, etc.). They will also include informative and awareness-raising spaces on responsible consumption, agricultural prices and ecology, supporting small producers who work with ecological criteria and encouraging a more sustainable and responsible consumption model. A meeting point for people to buy directly, without intermediaries, and know who cultivates the land.
Together with producers of vegetables and fruit from the garden, next Sunday's market 19 will have a workshop on ferments by La Fermenteria de l'Horta, an entertainment and games space for boys and girls, the stand of participating local organizations and will conclude with a circle dance workshop by the El Mussol Cultural Association.
