Besides, dissemination and social awareness are consolidated as a fundamental tool in the MARLICE Forum 2024 through the program that integrates MARLICE4PEOPLE. Coordinated by the Spanish Association of Marine Litter (AEBAM), The forum will share initiatives with citizens and invite them to collaborate in the change towards a future with clean oceans.
The program will be divided into different activities with a variety of themes., with the aim of bringing the problem of marine litter to the public, incorporating aspects such as art into the forum, communication or environmental education. Within the art theme, two photographic exhibitions will be presented in the Clock Building of the 20 al 24 of May:
• The finalists of the II MARLICE Photography Contest- "Aim: “Clean Oceans”, whose topic was focused on marine litter.
• The exhibition If it's yours, why don't you take it?, by photographer Javier Carrascosa, which has the collaboration of the Zero Discharge Association, AEBAM and Enviro Networking.
Two sessions will be organized in the Veles e Vents building where the communication of the problem of marine litter will be the backbone., the days 22 y 23 May during 18.00 a 19.30 h, free of charge and open to citizens with prior online registration until capacity is reached. The first of the sessions, “Social networks as a tool to help save the oceans”, in charge of the Libera Project, It will be a practical and dynamic workshop in order to explain how to communicate scientific information to citizens through social networks., creating quality content, establishing an online presence or building an interested audience. In the second session, “Television as a tool to save the oceans”, The experience and knowledge of environmental journalists will be shared and some of the pieces they have made will be shown, with the aim of capturing communication methods, in addition to the opportunities, challenges or problems that have been encountered when transmitting concepts and messages related to this environmental problem. In this session, There will be the confirmed presence of the following journalists:

Finally, MARLICE4PEOPLE will have a space for environmental education in the Clock Building, on Friday 24 May during 10.00 a 13.00 h, through a workshop given by the Plàstic Preciós La Safor entity with the objectives of explaining the problem of marine litter, the importance of responsible use of plastic or its recycling process. Therefore, MARLICE4PEOPLE aims to open debates to citizens by making MARLICE a key actor for change and developing a powerful communication strategy.
