Marc Levy: “The Symphony of Monsters”

MEETINGS OF THE FRENCH INSTITUTE OF VALENCIA with MARC LEVY. “The Symphony of Monsters” (Ed. Harper Collins). With Eva Adám and Maxime Henri-Rousseau.

We organize, together with the French Institute of Valencia, the presentation of Marc Levy's latest book. They will present and talk with the author Eva Adám (Professor of applied linguistics at the UPV) y Maxime Henri-Rousseau ( Director of the French Institute of Valencia). This novel is inspired by real events. The conservative estimate of the number of Ukrainian children abducted since the large-scale invasion of Ukraine is currently 20 000.

About the book:
«Veronika is one of those women who does not give up even in the worst moments. You don't choose to be a nurse if you accept defeat... You have tamed your loneliness. But taming fear is something else.".
one night, when returning home, Veronika discovers that her nine-year-old son has disappeared. Helpless, She and her teenage daughter Lilya try to understand where Valentyn has been taken.. They will move heaven and earth until they find the child's whereabouts, one animated by her adolescent recklessness and the other by her motherly determination.. But the enemy lurks, and Lilya and Veronika won't be able to trust anyone... or almost. Together they will try to destroy "The Symphony of Monsters", a project much more terrifying than fiction. Throughout an adventure populated by unforgettable characters, a mother and a daughter will learn to know and love each other again. Through a powerful literary style, Marc Levy offers us a masterful novel: a great human adventure in the heart of the tumultuous history that is being told today before our eyes.
