The latest ornithopod discoveries

Ornithopods are one of the most diverse clades of bipedal herbivorous dinosaurs.. Remains from different periods have been found, from the Jurassic to the end of the Cretaceous, on all continents. In this talk, Dr.. Cruzado-Caballero will tell us about the latest discoveries made and explain details of the elasmaria of South America and the hadrosaurids or duck-billed dinosaurs, both from the iguanodontid family.

Within the fossil record of these groups, exceptionally abundant, fossilized remains of eggs have been discovered and analyzed, footprints, peaks, barbs, endocranial fillers… On our peninsula, specifically in Burgos, Aragon and Pyrenees, More than a dozen species of ornithopods have been described, very abundant at the end of the Cretaceous. What similarities and differences are there between Iberian ornithopods and South American faunas??
