The first session of the cycle is starred by the essayist, musicólogo y poeta Ramón Andrés, acompañado por Mónica de Quesada, Patron of the Foundation.
Si hay algo que destacar de Claudio Monteverdi es que fue un un “moderno”. Sin duda el más imaginativo e innovador de su tiempo, a caballo entre el Renacimiento y el Barroco. La mayor parte de su obra se ha perdido, pero por fortuna ha llegado hasta nosotros su opera prima y la que es la primera ópera de la historia que se conserva completa: Orpheus. Favola in musica (1607). A propósito de la representación de L’Orfeo, que tendrá lugar en Les Arts el 23 February, este Conexiones pone el foco en el mito de Orfeo y en este crucial compositor que creó técnicas expresivas únicas, desarrollando y estableciendo los patrones de un género musical fundamental como es la ópera. Un acercamiento al mito a través de su influencia en las diferentes disciplinas artísticas, así como a la figura y obra de Monteverdi, permitiendo al público transitarlas y explorar su música a través del diálogo.
