The Jimmy Glass presents for the first time the quartet of the great Italian saxophonist Lorenzo Simoni, who is accompanied by Jason Palmer, one of the great figures of the international jazz trumpet. The Simoni Quartet, composed by pianist Vittorio Solimene, double bassist Giulio Scianatico and drummer Fabrizio Doberti joined American trumpeter Jason Palmer to create a unique quintet. More than just a foursome with a special guest, became a consolidated group, with its own repertoire and distinctive sound. Palmer, whom we already had at Jimmy Glass in October of last year leading a quintet with Mark Turner within the XIV Jimmy Glass International Contemporary Jazz Festival, joins this young and award-winning quartet, able to combine traditional African American music with the leader's original compositions.
