Thirty-two bookstores associated with the Bookmakers' Guild of Valencia will host literary activities, of storytellers, theatrical and musical on the days 7, 8, 9 i 11 of November, in the framework of the Bookstores Fest 2024. This year this festival, promoted by the Book Guild, grows in the number of participating bookstores, in activities and is consolidated as a Bookstore Day celebration, which has a fixed date in the annual calendar: on November 11. The Bookstores Fest wants to celebrate the value of bookshops as cultural and local spaces, as well as attracting new audiences and strengthening the role of bookstores as cultural agents and promoting reading.
As a whole the programming of the Bookstores Fest 2024 propose near 60 of activities, which will take place for free inside the bookstores, addressed to all audiences. As in previous editions, the proposal stands out for its literary content and its commitment to Valencian authors. The literature of our territory and the bookstores will be the protagonists with presentations of Carmen Amoraga's latest works, Bibiana Collado, Manuel Bauxauli, Teresa Broseta and Patricia Campos, Núria Chains, Toni Cucarella, Esther López Barceló and Juan Francisco Ferrándiz as well as others.
The Bookstores Fest 2024 it also has storytelling activities and workshops, aimed at the family audience, and musical performances. Literary and musical vermouths One of the main novelties of this year’s edition is the premiere of the literary or musical vermouth format, which can be enjoyed at numerous bookstores during most of the activities. The offer of literary and musical vermouths is possible thanks to the sponsorship of Bodegas Urbanas, Valencian company based in Godella that has committed to supporting bookstores and culture through the Bookstores Fest 2024. In the activities with this format, the public will be offered a taste of Ciento Volando organic vermouth. The programming of the Bookstore Fest 2024 is coordinated by the Book Guild of Valencia, that last year brought back a celebration that had been interrupted by the pandemic. Affiliated bookstores have been able to choose activities from a wide catalog; with your selection, in addition to proposals from the bookstores themselves, the final program has been set.
