Liz Gartz (Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, 1963) invites us to the opening of his new painting exhibition next Friday, 27 February, which will take place at Espacio Ronda Valencia. With the title “Empty, Memories and Presences”- Bridges between the obvious and the suggested- presents a total of 31 oil and encaustic paintings in various formats. The visual artist offers us an exhibition tour without rushing, in a relaxed atmosphere to connect through introspection, reflection on his recent work. The themes address the past, the feelings that derive from it and the presence of a renewed self. Through elements such as masks or mirrors, the play of color and a balance between abstraction and figuration is revealed., the author tells us:
My work explores deep personal connection as a space of resistance and balance., creating a constant tension between the figurative forms and the abstract field. As a woman and migrant, I inhabit a world that has not been designed for us. I have witnessed bodies and souls break, but I have also witnessed the blossoming of resilience. Color occupies an essential place in my practice: It is the element that activates the paint, the pulse that generates tension and sustains the emotion of each work.
