For the first time in Shiras Gallery, the artist Carolina Ferrer is preparing to inhabit the main room with her new project, made specifically to present it at the Valencia Open 2024.
Carolina Ferrer is a creator with a long career whose formal and thematic singularity, the difference and, at the same time, makes it difficult to attach them to specific trends. The pictorial world of C. Ferrer, of suggestive and enigmatic conception and impeccable workmanship, It is her own place where the author has always found a way to combine her aesthetic concerns with her semantic imperatives.. Carolina Ferrer's poetic spaces move, wisely, in the equidistance between plastic intensity and semantic finality. The author's hallmarks are her treatment of color – she uses strong fluorescent colors and almost monochromatic atmospheres to give greater expressiveness and strength to her images – and of light – in its maximum contrast., with extreme chiaroscuro, almost Caravaggio-esque – (until the present).
The author shows a tendency towards large format, to the series of paintings that dialogue as pieces of a single story; dispense with the accessory, creates atmospheres with an air of unreality that produce a tone of mystery in the images and creates an emotional representation of space. The conflict reappears in Carolina Ferrer between her will to order a firm and controlled formal language for her painting, capable of representing a world without attributes, of ideas, and the need to transmit the pulse of feeling. In Carolina Ferrer's painting there are echoes of both photography, cinema and theater, but also literature and philosophy. The author weaves these disciplines to distill her imagination with her particular voice and her unique technique based on synthetic resins that give her works a specular shine..
