The woman in black

after 30 uninterrupted years of success 'La mujer de negro’ has become the longest-running non-musical play, after 'The Mousetrap'’ d’Agatha Christie, in London's West End. The play is based on the novel of the same name by Susan Hill and was adapted by Stephen Mallatratt for the stage in 1987.

With more than 10 millions of viewers and produced in 40 countries 'The Woman in Black’ tells the story of Arthur Kipps, a middle-aged lawyer who rents a theater and hires a professional actor to help him recount a phantasmagorical and tragic event that happened to him and his own family and which he has never been able to reveal to anyone. With the help of the actor, of the abandoned sets of the theater and of the imagination - which is infinite and very powerful- they interpret the story of Kipps to such an extent that the phantasmagoric of the story becomes real and the spectators will live one of the most terrifying experiences of their entire life in a theater.

As a novelty, we wanted to enhance the conceptual part of the function with the scenography and costumes. And endow it with new and magical effects that enhance the world of the afterlife, with illusionism, the music and the projections, because viewers live an immersive experience of terror. A genre that is fascinating and appealing to the general public, both in literature and the small or big screen, but that has rarely been taken to the theater. Besides, the text connects with the most animal essence of the human being, therefore it is inevitable to identify and, for that very reason, it is a unique experience. Prepare their five senses and be alert because they will feel fear…
