Jose Merce, indisputable figure of flamenco singing, returns to Les Arts to present El Oripandó, result of intense conceptualization work, composition and production with Antonio Orozco, who has distilled into the album two and a half years of conversations and confidences with the singer from Gadí and his family. It is a work with a marked biographical character that conveys this intimate dialogue to the listener. Life itself, encapsulated in eight themes with an unmistakable flamenco background. Extensive progressive tone compositions, walks, old forge songs that go hand in hand with rap, electronic patterns that approach rock and existential moans. Mercé is accompanied on stage by drums, down, electric guitar, piano, keyboards and choristers to interpret this work and the occasional stick of the purest flamenco.
