Craft fishing day and sustainability in the Albufera

The Community of Fishermen of the Palmar organizes this meeting open to the public that is part of the celebrations for 775 anniversary of the entity and which coincides with World Fishing Day.

The event will offer a diverse program that combines informative activities, gastronomic, cultural and family, with the aim of bringing the public closer to the value of artisanal fishing and its essential role in the conservation of the Albufera. The day includes a round table, integrated for technical staff, researcher and from the fishing sector, which will serve to reflect on the past, the present and the future challenges of this ancient tradition; an intergenerational meeting between partners and members of the Community, and a gastronomic experience with cooking demonstrations and the dissemination of traditional recipes based on this local fishing. The public will also be able to enjoy an exhibition and family activities that will allow them to get to know the natural and cultural heritage associated with the artisanal fishing of this wetland..

10.30 h. – Inauguration of the exhibition "Artisanal fishing in L'Albufera de Valencia".
11 h. – Round table: "Fishing in the Albufera: passat, present and future challenges».
13 h. – Show cooking and traditional recipes, with free tasting.
16.30 h. – Converses: "Fishing appointments and challenges".
11.00– 2.00 pm – Children and family activities: games and animations, networking workshop, Latin sail crafts, outings in a rowing boat and guided visits to the Aquatic Center of Palmar.

The day includes a round table, made up of technical staff, researcher and fishing sector, that will serve to reflect on the past, the present and future challenges of this ancient tradition; an intergenerational meeting between members of the Community, and a gastronomic experience with cooking samples and dissemination of traditional recipes based on this local fishing. The public will also be able to enjoy an exhibition and family activities that will allow them to learn up close the natural and cultural heritage associated with artisanal fishing in this wetland..
