Andersen, the ugly duckling It invites us to immerse ourselves in the well-known story of this duck and the childhood of its author., Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen (1805-1875), who said that this story was his autobiography too. He was a child different from the others. Because of his physique, clumsiness and low social class, suffered harassment, rejections, and found refuge in literature, the theater, the puppets, the cut papers. His wounds got goal- morph them and turn them into stories, that hundreds of years later are read throughout the world, and are revealed as authentic stories that are part of the heritage of humanity. The show also draws inspiration from a lesser-known part of Andersen's legacy: the cut-out papers he made throughout his life, also with the aim of telling stories with them. The Fable of the Ugly Duckling addresses issues as crucial for contemporary society as bullying., generosity, the beauty, body acceptance, authenticity, self love. In the form of a musical story with puppets and narration, the waters of this happily poetic pond are traced, that highlights the importance of kindness, affection and imagination as spaces for understanding the world.
