The SGAE Foundation joins the celebration in Valencia of Women Writers' Day, initiative promoted by the National Library of Spain (BNE), the Spanish Federation of Women Managers, Executives, Professionals and Businesswomen(FEDEPE) and the Classic and Modern Association. With the purpose of vindicating and making visible the literary work of women, so many times silenced and forgotten, The IX edition of this event is presented under the motto The periphery of the periphery: women who looked at the rural world.
The session, which will take place in the SGAE Center Cultural Room, will be presented by Amparo Zacarés, president of Classical and Modern, and the playwright, actress and director Antonia Bueno.
Classics by women who looked at our towns and fields will be read (like Teresa of Jesus, Rosalía de Castro or Emilia Pardo Bazán), texts by authors who sadly did not transcend as much (María de la O Lejárraga, Alaíde Foppa or Caterina Albert) and passages from Valencian writers (Carmen Alborch or María Ibars).
