IV MusiQuart

The fourth edition of MusiQuart will be held from 18 al 23 June thanks to the support of the Quart de Poblet City Council, the Valencian Institute of Culture and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of the Generalitat Valenciana and the collaboration of different cultural associations of the municipality. This well-established festival with artistic direction by Plaerdemavida Ensemble will revolve around the voice in its edition of 2024, with special attention to composers and performers. In addition to concerts by renowned international artists, MusiQuart propone diferentes masterclasses, y, as a novelty, the workshop “The temple of your voice” offered by the soprano Paloma Chiner and open to all the public who want to participate.

As in previous editions, A selection of IBLA Grand Prize winners will perform at the opening, with two piano duets for four hands (Dutch duo Scholtes & Janssesns and the Italian Duo Bravi-Scapicchi), the violinist Eduardo Paredes and the pianist Lestari Scholtes who will delight us with works by Debussy, Ravel, Chopin and Rimsky-Korsakov. This first concert of the edition will be on Tuesday 18 June at 20:00 hours in the Molí de Vila Auditorium.

on Wednesday 19, at the same time and same space, We will enjoy a monograph dedicated to the Mallorcan composer Matilde Escalas i Xamení. A work of recovery of these wonderful romantic songs and small piano pieces performed by the tenor José Manuel Sánchez and the pianist Francesc Blanco, winners of the Enderrock award for best classical album 2023. The next day, Plaerdemavida Ensemble, festival host group, will offer a program that will explore the history of music through female composers: universal composers, talented like Hildegarda von Bingen, Clara Schumann, Rebecca Clarke, Matilde Salvador o Isabel Latorre, and that have often been silenced. Don't miss this event that will have more surprises, on thursday 20 June at 20:00 in the Molí de Vila Auditorium. Specifically, Isabel Latorre will present her Endevina project, a concert that will cover the different varieties of grapes with which wine is made and that Eixa with its multi-instrumentality and its mestizaje-pop rhythms and melodies will not leave the public indifferent. It will be on Friday 21, at 20:00, in the Molí de Vila Auditorium.

The weekend will feature two truly luxurious lyrical recitals, with two excellent international singers. Saturday 22 at 20:00, in the Molí de Vila Auditorium, we will have the Argentine soprano Graciela Armendáriz, with a recital in which he will remember and show the repertoire that has marked his career, with arias and songs by Mozart, Donizetti, Verdi, Turin, Amadeo Vives or Fernández Caballero. She will be accompanied on the piano by the Valencian pianist Pablo García-Berlanga. on sunday 23, at 19:00, also in the Auditorium Molí de Vila, The festival will be closed by the duo from Switzerland and formed by the mezzo-soprano Véronique Valdès and the pianist Christiane Baume-Sanglard with the program Voix humaines, with works by Debussy, Nadia Boulanger, Berlioz and Poulenc and their wonderful opera for a single voice “La voix humaine”

To delve deeper into the voice instrument, Saturday 22 at 10:30h at the CIN Riu Túria the Quartana soprano Paloma Chiner will perform the workshop The temple of your voice, open to all types of public who want to know a little more about their own vocal instrument and experience all its possibilities.

Among the masterclasses organized this year for music students from different musical groups and conservatories, those offered by soprano Graciela Armendáriz stand out., singing, and by the composer Isabel Latorre, on traditional tools for new compositions. Besides, We will have the joint masterclass of Paloma Chiner and Pablo García-Berlanga, singing and singing repertoire and master classes with Jorge David Fanjul, cello and chamber music.
