Philip Glass is one of the fundamental figures in the music of our time. His language, based on the gradual transformation of rhythmic and harmonic cells, invites active contemplation: a listening in which time seems to expand and every slightest variation acquires a deep meaning.
The program offers a tour of some of his most representative pages for piano, from the brightness ofOpening (Glassworks, 1982) to the meditative intensity of Mad Rush, going through the various perspectives of theirs Studies and the serene farewell of Mishima – Closing. The selection responds to a symmetrical architecture 1-3-1-3-1, designed to generate a sensation of travel, balance and return, in which each work dialogues with the others and the concert is experienced as a single arc of sound in constant transformation.
