“To avoid levitating, “I place stones on my body on the Rambla de Artaj”. The artist Amadeo Peñalver inaugurates this cathartic exhibition back to his origins. The opening of the art studio will be next 28 November at 19:30h. in C/ Marked of Zenete, 29 (Valencia). The artist gains momentum to contribute to the development of European identity in the international community.
Peñalver trained in Fine Arts in Valencia and Paris in the years 80 and begins his career alongside the new avant-garde. In the following decade, His work is infused with travels through Latin America and the Amazon.. He settles in New York and 1991 funda APE Gallery and Soho, a vibrant space. In the year 2000, Fish Tank Gallery was one of the first art spaces to open its doors in Williamsbourg (Brooklyn). In 2007 se muda a Greenpoint (Brooklyn), where he develops his work in large format oil paintings, that will give way to the energetic “Live” collection of 2010, created through performance-painting. In 2014 establishes Peñalver’ Studio in Montclair (NJ). In 2022 He returns to Spain.
Amadeo Peñalver states that “New York is suffering an incipient decline and I find myself in this diaspora of New York artists.”. I look at my Valencian roots with energy, reunion and commitment to Europe”.
