Between the fifties and seventies, Scandinavia became a creative refuge for prominent African-American musicians of jazz, who sought to escape racism in the United States. In the cold and dark cities of the north, artists such as Dexter Gordon, Don Cherry, Sahib Shihab, Joe Harris and Quincy Jones found a space to play freely, be celebrated like stars and even start families. Hoy, It is your children who, from the adult perspective, tell the lights and shadows of that legacy: family tensions, the wounds of racism and the search for one's own identity, with the jazz as a bridge between generations.
