The Palau de la Música presents Justin, one of Antonio Vivaldi's most representative operas. Although he is universally known for his instrumental concerts, the Venetian composer also developed an intense theatrical activity and wrote nearly fifty operas throughout his career. Premiered in Rome on 1724, Justin narrates the rise of the peasant Giustino to become emperor of Byzantium, in a plot that combines adventures, political intrigue and great lyrical moments. La prestigiosa Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, one of the most recognized European formations in the interpretation with historical criteria and with the direction of René Jacobs, will interpret this baroque masterpiece. Regarding the vocal cast, brings together outstanding lyrical voices specialized in this repertoire, headlined by countertenor Christophe Dumaux in the starring role.
