They have their own destiny books*: The journey of a bibliophile

* Books have their destiny. The collector Luis Caruana stars in a new session of the cycle Traveling Looks, directed and moderated by Nicolas Bas, Professor of History of Science and Documentation at the University of Valencia, in Canada Blanch Foundation.

Caruana's private collection consists of more than 7.000 volumes from before the 18th century that the family has inherited from a relative, the French bookseller Diego Mallén Gallard established in Valencia in the 18th century who was the father-in-law of the great Valencian bibliophile Vicente Salvá. We delve into the history of this unique collection, focused on the early days of printing, to see first-hand their jewelry, the curiosities that surround it or the demands of its conservation.

In this cycle we explore how travel experiences have transformed our protagonists and their disciplines through their creative vision and their contribution to diversity and multiculturalism.. Previously, figures such as Ambassador Teresa Lizaranzu, the expert searcher of natural resources Dominique Roques, the writer Ignacio Somovilla or the writer and co-founder of the publishing house Zenda-Edhasa, Maria Jose Solano.
