Grandbrothers It is a duo formed by the Swiss Luke Vogel (software designer and synthesizer builder) and German-Turkish Erol Sarp (jazz pianist). They are based in the German city of Düsseldorf, at whose university they met, adding and uniting both since then their respective backgrounds and disciplines in this common project. With it they have become an international reference at that crossroads where classical piano music meets electronic music., in his case through modern and experimental production: an interrelationship where the keys of the Steinway of Steep are mixed with innovative and amazing software and sound design by Vogel. Their live shows are an amazing audiovisual experience, emotional and melodic. So far they have released four albums: “Dilation” (2015), “Open” (2017), “All The Unknown” (2021) y “Late Reflections” (2023), the first on the label FILM and the following in City Slang, where the fifth will also come out, that “Elsewhere” that they will present to us in November.
At the moment, of “Elsewhere”, that will be published on 26 of September, They have released the first advance single today, the theme “We Collide”, that has arrived accompanied by a video clip. In this album he has renewed his sound, something that will also be visually translated to your live shows. Although its characteristic combination of acoustic piano and rhythmic textures remains, This time will be the first time the duo incorporates analog synthesizers, drum machines and a more forceful sense of movement in your music. It is a bold change that serves to, staying true to its essence, open new doors.
