The printing press was a cultural revolution. The invention of the printing press expanded the uses of private reading and public writing. The rapid reproduction of the printed book, making texts more accessible, ensured the spread of writing throughout society as had never been seen before. Used for teaching lessons, for the administration, for preaching and for entertainment. The classical and Christian traditions were being reoriented and reconsidered in the 15th and 16th centuries.. Printing will speed up the transmission of written culture and will configure a new republic of universal letters., that will have an impact on intellectual work, in the methods of access to knowledge and in the way of establishing communication connections throughout Europe. The printed book serves the new scientific disciplines as it seeks the resurgence of the classics in reissues of medical texts., astronomy, natural sciences or mathematics, which means that thought is opened to modern knowledge, away from ignorance or superstition. Also, The Church understood that it should associate the printing press with the mission of spreading the gospel. A large number of religious texts are printed: the sacred scriptures, liturgical books and prayer books, pious or mystical in nature, published in vulgar language, who enjoyed a wide readership, both clergy and laity.
