Twenty years after its publication, Paz returns to the stage as a rereading of Bill Evans' musical universe from the perspective of Niño Josele. In this project, the flamenco guitar takes the role of the piano, transferring its harmonic richness to its own language. Conceived as a jazz project rather than a fusion, the trio builds an intimate and open sound space, where improvisation and interaction are essential. The repertoire combines pieces from the original album with new readings, in a balance between structure and freedom. The result is a delicate and deeply expressive proposal., that reveals the ability of music to build bridges between traditions from a personal and contemporary voice.
More than a reinterpretation, Paz works like a perspective shift: Evans' language does not translate, transforms. The guitar does not imitate the piano, but rather reimagines it from its own sound matter, generating a subtle tension between memory and present that defines the character of the concert.
