Fabio Luisi

“Indescribable, unforgettable, indescribable” was the monographic concert dedicated to Strauss that Fabio Luisi directed in Les Arts the 2023, according to the reviews. This season, the Italian master tackles the Symphony 8 Bruckner, “the work of a giant”, in Hugo Wolf words. The score exceeded in dimensions and spiritual depth all the previous ones of the German composer and was the last completed by him, which he did not hesitate to describe as “the most significant”. It represents the culmination of Bruckner's symphonic language: brilliant orchestration, dazzling sound structure, epic spirit and at the same time dramatic with passages that lead to exciting climaxes, and the recapitulation of the themes in the final apotheosis, where the annotation appears “Amen!” of the composer, expression of the triumphal and mystical nature of the work.
