Premieres Filmoteca: The night is already leaving

He 15 of September, The Filmoteca hosts an entire cinephile event. You can finally see each other in Valencia, and presented by its directors, l'argentina The night is already leaving, a film that received unanimous applause from the critics during its passage through several festivals last season. With the show, the words of Carlos Losilla:

“Chronicle of precariousness in Argentina by Milei, celebration of cinema as a gesture of resistance, this first opera has been one of the surprises of the year. And not because we don't expect anything from her, but because we did not expect it seen in that way. Filmed in fuzzy and sad black and white, could not evoke a more plethoric feeling of joy. And although the plot is practically non-existent (an employee stays to live in a municipal cinema club about to close, creating a bustling community of uprooted people there), the way in which it dialectically confronts the images of the present and those of the past (this is where Leo McCarey parades, Frank Borzage, Yasujiro Ozu…) it ends up floating in a non-existent time that is the utopia of cinema: cinephilia as a political gesture, the cinema of today as something that cannot be understood without that heritage".
