This year we celebrate 75 anniversary of the death of Salvador Tuset Tuset (1883-1951), a notable and fruitful artist, known primarily for the most charismatic and personal facet of his painting, the so-called “interiors”. However, Tuset covered different topics, genres and styles – in addition to his sculptural works – in more than fifty years of work. His work began in a period of change in the plastic arts., halfway between the decline of nineteenth-century academicism and the rise of modernism and impressionism in Spain. Finally he coexisted with the artistic avant-garde of the 20th century. Good connoisseur of the artistic scene of his time, he chose for himself a rich formation, strongly based on the teachings of the San Carlos School of Fine Arts, the teaching of Joaquín Sorolla and the learning acquired at the Spanish Academy in Rome.
