In the new installment of 'El nostre cinema' we travel to the island of Tabarca, in a feature film directed thirty years ago by Domingo Rodes from Alicante and titled precisely like that, Strength. Set in the sixties, it is a story of solidarity, amor, revenge, jealousy and hatred, based on the homonymous novel by Miguel Signes. Through the story of a political activist persecuted by Franco, which is a refuge to the island of Tabarca, presents two opposing worlds doomed to unite only during a parenthesis, in which the characters will challenge their fate. Domingo Rodes made his feature film debut with this film, after extensive experience in the field of documentaries and short films, lands to which he has continued to be linked throughout his career. Strength participated in international festivals such as those in Montreal, Havana or Sant Diego, received a Special Mention from the Jury at the Film Festival de la Mar (Cartagena) and the Carles Mira Award from the Peíscola Festival.

Based on the novel Tabarca by Miguel Signes Molines and set in the decade of the 60, the film transports us to the small island of Tabarca, where a mysterious character named Juan, a former political activist persecuted by the Franco regime, he arrives on the island looking for refuge.
