The teacher at the contemporary avant -garde

The Faculty of Fine Arts of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) organiza, In collaboration with the Museu d’Art Contemporani Vicente Aguilera Cerni de Vilafamés (MACVAC) and the Spanish gallery, the exhibition The teacher and the contemporary avant -garde, which will be inaugurated in the Josep Renau room the 15 April at 12 noon and will remain until the 25 of May.

The sample, Commissioned by Alejandro Mañas García and Laura Silvestre García gathers works of the Macvac and Espai Nivi, In an attempt to approach the contemporary art collections that both spaces are making from the interior of the teacher. The Macvac, founded on 1970, It has been a lighthouse in the artistic reality of the territory of Castellón, preserving and promoting an impressive variety of works that reflect the evolution of art throughout the twentieth century. For your part, Espai nivi, celebrate 18 years since its foundation in the municipality of Culla, With a valuable contribution that has transcended the local to achieve national and international projection.

The exhibition reflects a strategic alliance between the UPV and the two institutions of Castellón, that share a deep passion for contemporary art. Thus, Not only is the work of the Macvac and Espai Nivi value, It also reflects the vitality of a cultural activity far from the usual art circuit in the city. The selection of works of the MACVAC shown in this exhibition, They draw a tour of the historical avant -garde of the twentieth century, Through some of its most emblematic artists.
