From the hand of the Japan Foundation, present a retrospective dedicated to Sumiko Haneda, considered one of the great Japanese documentaries. This retrospective gathers seven of the most representative works of one of the most relevant figures - and unknown to the West - of Japanese cinematography.
Pioneer of Japanese non-fiction cinema, Sumiko Haneda (Dalian, 1926) is one of the few cinemas to get a place in a world of men during the postwar, When Iwanami Studies Back, Educational Films Producer and Pedrera of the best Japanese documentalists. L’any 1976, with The cherry of gray flowers, The filmmaker becomes independent to produce his own films. For more than sixty years active, and with a work that covers more than one hundred titles, Haneda deals with topics as diverse as the preservation of nature, traditional arts, the disintegration of rural Japan, the aging of society or the celebration of women's work and creativity.
