Dialogues Cañada Blanch: I don't wait for the other who is also me

The artist Carmen Calvo (Valencia, 1950), recognized with the National Prize for Plastic Arts 2013 and the Julio González International Award 2020, stars in a new Cañada Blanch Dialogue with the professor and curator Rafael Gil Salinas. The talk, directed and moderated by the art consultant Amparela Benlliure, proposes a transversal look at the artistic discipline, understanding creativity as an engine of search and intellectual reflection.

Throughout her career, Carmen Calvo has developed her own language in which memory, identity, body and archive dialogue through a practice that integrates painting, collage, photograph, installation and found object. His work, exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the world, It is articulated as a recovery exercise, transformation and resignification of images and materials from visual culture and everyday experience.
