The neighborhood association Cuidem el Cabanyal-Canyamelar reports that two of its members and neighbors in the neighborhood have finally been fined along with three other people, after being identified by the National Police as organizers in May 2024 of a public assembly in which the problem caused by the proliferation of tourist homes in the neighborhood was discussed.
Cuidem Cabanyal-Canyamelar claims that there was overzealousness and a disproportionate and unnecessary action by the National Police, with the desire to suppress the use of public space as a meeting place to be informed and to think collectively about alternatives to processes that are destroying the human fabric and the personality of the neighborhood.
Cuidem is organizing a day of solidarity to give financial support to these neighbors next Saturday 28 in February at the Cabanyal-Horta urban garden, where there will be a paella and an artistic auction.
