Piano concerto by Eduardo Frías

The acclaimed Spanish pianist Eduardo Frias offers us a recital of a high artistic level within the framework of the cycle The Piano of Cañada Blanch, directed by Ruben Talon, director of the Piano Department of the Higher School of High Performance Music (ESMAR). Named “Steinway Artist” and manager and artistic director of the Scherzo Foundation, Frías has developed an international career with performances in auditoriums in countries such as the United States., China, France, Italia, Swiss, Brazil and the United Kingdom. His repertoire combines the virtuosity of romantic piano with an outstanding commitment to the work of contemporary authors., and has given world premieres at Carnegie Hall in New York. Throughout his career he has worked with renowned musicians such as Alisa Weilerstein, Sol Gabetta, Leticia Moreno and Torleif Thedéen, consolidating itself as a reference for current piano interpretation.

About Eduardo Frias

Eduardo Frías was appointed manager and artistic director of the Scherzo Foundation in July 2023 y “Steinway Artist”, he 1 August 2022. He completed his higher education studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid with Professor Ms.. Elena Orobio, obtaining the highest grades. Later, He took musical improvement courses with teachers such as Hüseyin Sermet, Cristina Ortiz and Pascal Nemirovski, among others.

In 2017, Frías debuted at Carnegie Hall in New York with the complete work for solo piano by Jorge Grundman, which was released that same year by the Sony Classical record label under the title “Little Great Stories”. In 2021, Eduardo Frías recorded the second of his three works on Sony Classical, together with the Navarra Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Pedro Halffter. In 2022 is reinvited to Carnegie Hall with Gili Schwarzman and Alisa Weilerstein, starring in four absolute premieres.

In its interpretative aspect it has become a reference in the romantic repertoire., to which he adds his commitment to the work of contemporary authors who have a singular and unique voice in the musical panorama.. Frías has performed in auditoriums around the world, in countries like China, France, Italia, Swiss, Brazil, Portugal, United Kingdom, USA, Greece, Peru and Kuwait. He has played with musicians of the stature of Alisa Weilerstein, Sol Gabetta, Leticia Moreno, Pedro Halffter Caro, Gili Schwarzman and Torleif Thedéen.
