Gato is Monte llega in València by the hand of Guaricha Produccions (Ig@guarichaproduccions) with music that comes with earth and roots stuck in the boots and street in the veins.
Gato e´ monte ha colaborado con artistas de la escena alternativa y de músicas populares colombianas como La Muchacha y Edson Velandia.
Gustavo Casallas (Gato) grew up in Bosa, Bogotá, between hip hop, the grunge, punk and Colombian popular music. Later he immersed himself in llanera music and built his own language around chiflamero., an instrument created by himself from the bandola and the tiple.
His musical exploration is fueled by joropo, the carranga, the guasca, the cumbia, the hallway and the ranchera, but also in the noise of the city, his irreverence, the jet, football and the DIY spirit. A mix where Colombian peasant and popular music meets a young and disobedient energy.
There is something very punk about playing joropo, in inventing instruments,in taking the family music and making it mutate, in not asking permission to mix what is not supposed to be mixed.
