The voice of Sandra Carrasco and the guitar of David Arahal will yield tribute to the music of Pepe Marchena in the next cycle performance Concerts at the Foundation, organized by the Bancaja Foundation with the collaboration of Pavasal.
The performance, which will take place on Friday 13 February at 8 p.m., includes a repertoire in which both musicians dismantle piece by piece to the flamenco genius y they rebuild it with a new architecture, through the study and understanding of its essence.
The original project, which includes a book and a CD nominated as Best Flamenco Album at the Spanish Academy of Music Awards 2025, born after the death of Cristóbal Carrasco, Sandra's father, that inspired the singer to create this repertoire. Sandra Carrasco (Huelva, 1981) She is one of the most versatile singers with the most flamenco wisdom of her generation., that has taken flamenco far in collaborations with artistsinternationals like Anoushka Shankar (Grammy Award). IHe began his studies with Adelita Domingo and Amparo Correa, and since its beginnings it has obtained first prizes in various competitions. Later he joins Arcángel's tour of Spain and Europe, gaining recognition in the flamenco scene. Since then, Her talent leads her to share the stage with figures like El Pele, Manolo Sanlucar, Miguel Poveda and Estrella Morente, among others. Installed in Madrid, participate in the musical Lovers Anonymous y Limón produces his first self-titled album, with collaborations from Pepe Habichuela, Josemi Carmona and Avishai Cohen. In 2014 releases his second album, Ocean, a tribute to classical Latin American music with musicians like Chuchito Valdés, Javier Colina and Jerry González. David Arahal (Sevilla, 2000) He is one of the new guitar talents with the most projection of the moment. Guitarist and composer, started playing guitar at 10 years and trained with teachers like Manolo Sanlúcar, Rafael Riqueni, José Luis Balao and Tomatito, among others. His versatility has led him to collaborate with artists of the stature of Pepe de Lucía, Montoya clothes, Miguel Poveda, Estrella Morente, Israel Fernández and Antonio Canales. In 2021 He debuted as a soloist with his first album Green Sea. His second job, Art Alley, presented at the Seville Flamenco Biennial 2024, confirms his artistic maturity and his ability to create his own language within the genre, exploring new sounds and techniques that define it as one of the most promising figures of current flamenco. In 2024 was awarded New Value at the IX Manolo Sanlúcar International Flamenco Awards, also receiving the Award Fatiguillo Revelation awarded by the specialized critics at the Flamenco Biennial.
