Palestinian comic: own voices, collective cry

The image—the concept—of Palestine is engraved in the imaginations of the world. It has been recorded with bombs, blood and destruction. You must have lived a lot, many years, to have seen or heard news that does not revolve around this issue, every time Palestine is talked about. In this dominant story, that does more than 75 years that lasts, Palestinian voices have been, for a long time, marginalized, fragmented and discarded. Through these graphic works, Palestinian artists rebel against imposed silence. They use strokes to reverse colonial representations. The Palestinian intellectual Edward Said maintained that, when someone is denied their voice, is denied, also, the existence. Against this imposed silence and this denial of existence, We don't have to read these stories that we present as passive memories. They are active and dynamic interventions against historical amnesia.

Here, Palestinian artists claim stories—their stories—; voices—their voices—and futures—to build. reveal, also, the daily struggles, Palestinian resistance and cultural vitality. This exhibition is not just an artistic exhibition: goes further. It is an affirmation of the existence, a challenge to hegemony and a witness to the perseverance of Palestinian narratives. Each of the strokes of ink and each letter of each vignette stand up against oblivion and declare that Palestinian stories will continue to be explained as a collective cry.; They will continue to be explained until justice is done.
