This exhibition proposes a tour of the century and a half through the Spanish still in almost half a hundred works of Some of the most renowned artists consecrated to gender: From the sober approaches of Juan Van theHamen, Alejandro de Loarte or Juan de Zurbarán, going through the full baroque solutions of Juan de Arellano, until concluding with the refined compositions of Luis Meléndez. The genre of dead nature constitutes one of the most coherent thematic nuclei within the collection Mass, considered as one of the most important private art collections in Spain. In this exhibition a significant selection of still lifes has been gathered, focused on its most outstanding pieces of the Baroque and the Enlightenment. A through ella, with It offers a panorama of the origin and evolution of one of the most extended pictorial issues in the western tradition. All these pieces come from the funds in the collection Mass, and are completed with acquisitions recently made by the María Cristina Foundation Mass Peterson.
