The organization of the day «co-education, feminisms and museums. From theory to practice» responds on the one hand to the affirmation of the importance of the educational function of the museum and, besides, to the demand from society to include the gender perspective in the practice of museum institutions. The day also responds to the commitment of the National Museum of Ceramics and Luxury Arts to gender equality, evident both in its educational programming and temporary exhibitions, as in research projects, both own, as external and collectives in which it participates. The conference brings together nine specialists from both academia and different museums, cultural and educational institutions of the Spanish territory to offer an overview of the feminist theoretical assumptions in museum education, as well as concrete experiences and practices carried out in our country. The program also proposes a visit to the museum with a gender perspective taking as a starting point the pieces included in the project «Rereadings.
