In 2025 marks the centenary of the birth of actor and comedian Peter Sellers. For this reason, The Filmoteca dedicates a small tribute to him through three of his most recognized and emblematic films: The Guateque, a hilarious satirical-parodic comedy set in that iconic center of dreams that is Hollywood, dirigida per Black Edwards, with whom he collaborated giving life to the unforgettable Inspector Cousteau in the famous series of The pink panther; red telephone, Shall we fly to Moscow??, the hilarious and disturbing political satire set in that symbolic space of power that is Washington, in which duu a terme a tour de force interpretative in embodying three characters; i Welcome, Mr. Chance, whose story, in which the White House is also present, It is based on a wonderful novel by Jerzy Kosinski, which Sellers was in love with to the point that he did the impossible to play her protagonist, l’enteryable i simple gardener Chance, in the star of these eccentric and extravagant characters so wanted by the actor.
