Documentary about the life and career of Maurice Pialat produced by his widow, at the consummate film producer Sylvie Pialat. The film interweaves fragments of his films with images from interviews with Pialat, who talks about growing up as an only child, his interest in painting, his first influences, from Yasujiro Ozu fins to John Ford, his dislike for the French New Wave and the theme of abandonment in his films.
