Centenari Maurice Pialat: Turkish Chronicles

We continue to explore cinema - raw, Maurice Pialat. In January they are scheduled, others, his first short documentaries, two of his most autobiographical films (The open mouth i The child, in which he films his own son) and some of his masterpieces, com To our loves, Van Gogh – admired by Godard – or Under the Sun of Satan, that another great French filmmaker, Bruno Dumont, he considers his masterpiece and the one that channels everything that Pialat had always sought.

Turkish Chronicles is the title of six short documentary films directed in Turkey by Maurice Pialat between 1964 i 1965: Bosphorus (14′), Byzantium (11′), La Corne d’Or (12′), Istanbul (13′), Maître Galip (11′) and wrestling (13′). A portrait of the city of Istanbul that focuses on the different neighborhoods of the Turkish city and its inhabitants, from porter to fighter, passing through the traditional belly dancer.
