In collaboration with the Filmoteca de Murcia, we celebrate the centenary of one of the greatest actors of our cinema, Francisco Rabal. From a filmography of more than two hundred titles, in which he worked with Buñuel, Bardem, Antonioni or Glauber Rocha, we have chosen three of his most remembered and award-winning interpretations. In 1954 stage There is a path to the right, a decisive role in its beginnings, prize for the best actor at the Sant Sebastià festival. In 1999 he resumed a character he had already played, Francisco de Goya, in Goya in Bordeaux, the beautiful film by Carlos Saura that earned him the Goya for best actor. But if there is one character for whom he will always be remembered, it is Azarías, of The holy innocents, extraordinary film by Mario Camus with which he won from the level with his co-star Alfredo Landa the prize for the best male performance at the Cannes festival. The film will be screened in a double program with the documentary Paco, my father, directed by his son Benito Rabal, who will accompany us in this homage to his father.
