CCCKeys to the cinema: Sonia Grande

The Center of the Carme Culture Contemporary (CCCC) dedicates its next session of the cycle 'CCCCaves para el cine', which will take place on Wednesday 25 of March, to cinematographic costumes from the hand of designer Sonia Grande (Oviedo, 1964).

Winner of two Goyas and Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts, Sonia Grande has worked for Woody Allen, Pedro Almodóvar or Alejandro Amenábar and has dressed important actresses and actors such as Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep, Sharon Stone, Penelope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson, Maribel Verdú, Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, Emma Stone, Owen Wilson, Alec Baldwin, Javier Bardem, Ernesto Alterio or José Coronado.

Under the title 'The keys to cinematographic costume design' and accompanied by the filmmaker Rafael Maluenda, the Center del Carme welcomes one of the great costume designers of contemporary cinema, which has a long history in Europe and the United States.

During the talk Grande will address the narrative power of costumes in cinema, his working method and his creative process based on reading and interpreting the script. He will explain his close collaboration with the actors, something, for Big, essential, y, especially, with the directors: the methods of Woody Allen or Pedro Almodóvar.
