CCCKeys to the cinema: Fernando Colomo and José Luis Alcaine

The Center of the Carme Culture Contemporary (CCCC) premieres the third edition of 'CCCCaves para el cine', on Wednesday 18 February, with director Fernando Colomo and director of photography José Luis Alcaine, who will discuss modern art in a humorous way based on their latest film 'Las Delicias del Jardín', shot entirely on mobile phones. The session will start at 18.00 hours with the projection of the film and then, Colomo and Alcaine will share with the public their ironic vision of the world of art and the result of their innovative filming in a discussion moderated by the filmmaker and director of the series, Rafael Maluenda. Colomo himself stars in the comedy along with his son Pablo Colomo, visual artist, accompanied by Carmen Machi and Antonio Resines and with the collaboration of several artists who play themselves, like Antonio López and Javier de Juan, among others.

Fernando Colomo, innovator of Spanish comedy at the end of the seventies and during the eighties, He has directed iconic feature films such as 'Tigres de papel' (1977), 'The Joyful Life' (1987), 'Go down to the Moor' (1989), 'The Barbarian Years' (1998), 'South of Granada' (2001), or 'Isla Bonita' (2015). The film director, trained architect and expert in modern art, has conceived 'The Delights of the Garden' (2024) as a look full of humor towards the moment that modern art is experiencing.

For your part, José Luis Alcaine, master of cinematography who has illuminated Saura's cinema, Almodóvar, Ibáñez Serrador, Pilar Miro, Fernando Trueba, Gutiérrez Aragón or Brian de Palma, among many others, has conceived an innovative filming for 'Las Delicias del Jardín', replacing conventional cameras with mobile phones. The result gives the film a refreshing singularity that confirms, after almost 60 years of career, that Alcaine keeps the exploring spirit alive, capable of discoveries and genius. Both filmmakers return to the CCCC to share their latest project with the public in a new free-entry meeting, Until completing capacity.
