BYWATER CALL born from the chemistry between the powerful and energetic voice of Meghan Parnell and the suggestive guitar of Dave Barnes. A well-oiled combo completed by drummer Bruce McCarthy, bassist Mike Meusel, pianist Alan Zemaitis, The Tytestist Stephen Dyte and The Saxo Tenor Julian Nalli.
Influenced by artists such as The Allman Brothers Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, The Band o The Wood Brothers, Bywater Call began its journey in 2018 immediately winning over the Canadian festival circuit with its scenic strength and with the display of these seven musicians who put their heart into it, sweat and strength in each of their songs. Shortly after its formation, and before the recording and release of his first album, were chosen “Emerging Artists of the Year” by the Toronto Blues Society, which led them to be part of festivals such as Tremblant International Blues, Donnacona Blues, TDToronto Jazz, Toronto Beaches Jazz o el Orangeville Blues.
In 2019 They released their debut album, an eponymous work composed of ten original songs written by Parnell and Barnes with the occasional collaboration of Joe Ernewein and Tom Juhas. With this work they embarked on their first, frenetic European tour that took them to perform in thirty-nine cities in forty-five days., selling out tickets in most of their appointments.
