BioBlitz

From Botanical Garden of the University of Valencia, the Global Nature Foundation i SEO/BirdLife, we have organized a participative day at Marxalenes Park with the aim of getting to know and studying the urban biodiversity that inhabits this space. The activity is part of a Bioblitz, a citizen science initiative that involves identifying and recording as many species as possible in a specific location and during a specific day.

Throughout the day, which will be held on Saturday 8 of November, specialists in different taxonomic groups will participate who will accompany the people attending to observe, identify and catalog the biodiversity present in the park. specifically, will be worked with flora, birds and pollinating insects , groups that, in addition to being accessible and attractive to the general public, they are key indicators in the assessment of urban biodiversity.

He Bioblitz it is also an awareness tool that brings nature closer to the city and fosters an emotional connection with green spaces. During the last edition held in the Malilla park they identified themselves 14 species of birds, 50 species of flora, 12 pollinator species, labels and three species of bats detected when falling the night.

This activity is open to people of all ages, and to participate you only need to register beforehand. With actions like this, the project Renaturalize Valencia continues to advance in its commitment to the conservation and dissemination of the city's natural heritage.

the project Renaturalize Valencia has the support of Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), in the framework of Recovery Plan, Transformation and Resilience (PRTR), financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU. It is an initiative of theCity Council of Valencia in collaboration with Botanical Garden of the University of Valencia, the Global Nature Foundation i SEO/BirdLife.
