Billy Wilder: Sabrina

Follow the Billy Wilder cycle, with four titles from the fifties. In 1954, direct the mythical Sabrina, with an atypical role of Humphrey Bogart, and turning Audrey Hepburn into a fashion icon, thanks to the wardrobe of Edith Head and Givenchy, awarded with an Oscar. In 1957, Wilder once again has the actress in a much more cynical comedy, Ariane, pairing her with a Gary Cooper certainly too old for the character and the performer. This was the first collaboration with screenwriter I. A. L. Diamond, with whom he would write all his subsequent films. Between the two, Wilder adapted a story by Agatha Christie, Witness for charge, and transforms it into one of the best trial films in history, with memorable roles by Marlene Dietrich and a Tyrone Power in the antipodes of his gallant image, in which was his last appearance in the cinema. On your part, The lonely hero (1957), the story of Lindbergh's famous non-stop flight across the Atlantic, it is still a rarity in the filmmaker's career.
